New Watches from OMEGA Speedmaster: Super Racing, Moonwatch, Dark Side of the Moon and More!

It's a busy summer for OMEGA! From their role as official timekeeper of the 2024 Paris Olympics to releasing incredible new highly-sought after models within the Speedmaster collection, these watchmakers have their hands full! While we are still awaiting the arrival of many of these new Speedmaster watches, we are happily taking pre-orders for our watch clients. Below is a snapshot of some of the new models of watches from OMEGA Speedmaster that are being released this summer and beyond.

Presented on a 44.25mm stainless steel case with a black ceramic bezel ring, and filled with yellow "grand feu" enamel, this watch is a striking representation of OMEGA's technological advancement. Visible from the case back, this watch is powered by OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9920. This is the first OMEGA timepiece to include the new "spirate" technology which allows a certified precision of 0/+2 seconds a day- more accurate than quartz technology. The black sandwich dial with a distinctive honeycomb pattern featuring the racing style minute-track was  inspired by a concept watch that survived 15,000 gauss.  The diamond-polished and beveled black arrowhead indexes are filled with yellow Super-Luminova that emits a yellow glow. This color code is repeated in the Speedmaster and Super Racing wording on the dial.

One of the most iconic timepieces in the world- and one of the most anticipated releases of the year- the Speedmaster Moonwatch white dial is a legendary chronograph with an impressive representation of the brand's pioneering spirit. The watch is presented on a 42mm stainless steel casebody with a black anodized aluminum bezel ring and tachymeter scale featuring the "dot over ninety" - a special marking collectors often look for. The story behind the " Dot over 90" is that to keep up with demand, OMEGA used to produce bezels with multiple vendors in the 1960s (mid to late 60s). One particular vendor put the decimal over 90 as opposed to parallel with the number, and far lower production of those "Dot over 90" models were produced. Watch connoisseurs thought it was more "rare" since it was harder to find!

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial Case Back
It has a white lacquered "step" dial, front and back sapphire crystal, and includes an asymmetrical case inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster style worn on the moon. The Super-Luminova is different on this white dial model than on the "OG" Moonwatch as it's only at the end of the markers instead of the full markers. This watch is presented on either a stainless steel bracelet, black leather strap with micro-perforations or integrated black rubber strap. One key feature of the rubber strap is that there are lunar craters on the inside of the strap, paying homage to the "moonwatch".

Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Moonshine on Steel & Sedna on Steel
OMEGA's first "two-tone" or bi-color Moonwatch release! Both of these new 42mm models feature stainless steel paired with an 18k Sedna gold or an 18k Moonshine gold case body. The dial is a sun-brushed "step" dial in silver (18k Moonshine model) or PVD-treated Sedna gold. Through the polished stainless steel case back, the  OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 manual-winding automatic movement is visible. OMEGA predicts this model will be very collectable in the North American market as two-tone versions were only sold in German and Italian markets before this release. Thanks to OMEGA's patented Ceragold technology, gold numbers are set into the ceramic of the bezels.

This eye-catching, iconic watch was originally launched in 2018 and relaunched this year. It's presented on a 44.25 brushed black ceramic case body, and paired with black rubber strap, bold yellow stitching and micro-perforations revealing yellow rubber interior. This watch has a semi-skeletonized dial meaning that only the number ring and the subdials are actually on the dial, and the movement is underneath is textured to give the watch the look of "craters". The moon pattern and craters are actually modeled off of high resolution images of the front side of the moon taken by Nasa. The back of the movement is modeled after the back- or dark side- of the moon which is only visible from space.  The detail work on the movement is much more defined than 2018 movement because of advancements in laser ablation.
The Apollo 8 model has three subdials, one of which is particularly unique. OMEGA is the only company in the world to create a titanium piece for the second hand in creating the the rocket ship piece. It's completely cylindrical and made from one piece of titanium.
On the back of the caseback, the wearer can see the engravings: "Apollo 8, Dec 1968", "Dark Side of the Moon", "We'll See You on the Other Side", and "Co-Axial Master Chronometer".
