On May 28, 2017, 33 qualifying IRL drivers will line up at the Indianapolis 500 for a chance to go down in history as a winner of the most anticipated racing spectacle in the world. This year’s Indy 500 marks the 101
st running of the race. There will also be the traditionally iconic Formula 1 edition limited to 500. To commemorate the 101

TAG Heuer Indy 500 Formula 1 Chronograph

The Formula 1 Indy 500 watch is particularly spectacular this year because the "wings" (the logo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) have been incorporated into the dial. The wings can be seen at the 1/100
th counter near the 6:00 position. TAG Heuer states this is “the casual sports watch for a fast-paced life” and this piece certainly represents that style well.
The dial has a striking color described as anthracite grey sunray brushed. The combination of grey, black and red on this stainless steel watch are very striking. The 43mm case size is just right for a nice sporty casual look. The case-back design has the 101
st Indy 500 logo and checkered flag stamping which is certainly worth showing off.
This TAG Heur hosts a quartz movement with a 1/100
th second chronograph counter. The 1/100
th second counter is very intriguing, especially the first 30 seconds you activate the chronograph. For those first 30 seconds you will see the second hand rotate around each second ready to stop on the mark to time an extremely fast paced event.

TAG Heuer Indy 500 Carrera Automatic Chronograph – CAR2A1D.FT6101

This is the second year TAG Heuer has released a Carrera Automatic Chronograph for the Indianapolis 500. Just like the 2016 version, this Carrera will feature the Heuer 01 movement (50 Hour Power Reserve) with a skeleton dial and 45mm case. The case is composed of titanium, ceramic and PVD coated stainless steel. The strap has a highly unique and mesmerizing design with black leather accented by grey and red stitching. The look of this Carrera Chronograph is simply stunning, and the 2017 edition will be one to go down in the timepiece history books.
Keep in mind that the 2016 version was limited to 100 pieces and sold out at Moyer Fine Jewelers and throughout the globe very quickly. If you are interested in the Carrera version of the Indianapolis 500 watch be sure to act fast!
